Texas Southmost College (TSC) collected over 220 toys as part of the College’s Third Annual Angel Tree Toy Drive and distributed the toys on Dec. 16, 2015 to children at the Reynaldo Longoria Elementary School.

Texas Southmost College's Oliveira Student Services Center will be open on Monday, Dec. 21 through Tuesday, Dec. 22, and Monday, Dec. 28 through Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the winter break to help students prepare for the spring 2016 semester.

Although Texas Southmost College Psychology Instructor and Faculty Senate President Dr. Deborah Huerta didn't take the traditional path to teaching, her real life and academic journeys led her to TSC, where she has taught since 2001.

"I always wanted to teach, but I wanted to practice first," said Dr. Huerta. "I'm a practicing clinician. I had the opportunity to start teaching and never looked back."

Texas Southmost College hosted the 2015 Mr. Amigo unveiling on Nov. 18, 2015 at the ITEC Center. Mexican actress Itatí Cantoral was the 2015 Mr. Amigo. It was the first time that a Mr. Amigo honoree was present at the unveiling.

Texas Southmost College (TSC) continued to be a part of Mr. Amigo’s rich history. The 2015 honoree Mexican actress Itatí Cantoral appeared at the official presentation on Nov. 18, 2015 at the TSC ITEC Center.
