 Dr. Ariel I. Villanueva Program Director Welcome to the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Texas Southmost College! The DMS Program withholds a mission to develop entry-level sonographers who are highly skilled, technically competent, ethical, professional, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of our community, patients and of employing organizations. Through continued technological advancement and strong commitment to medical education, Texas Southmost College provides the foundation on which students can cultivate and expand their imaging skills in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography profession. The program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in collaboration with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). Graduates of the program are eligible to take the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations in Sonography Principles and Instrumentation, Abdomen, and Obstetrics and Gynecology specialties immediately upon program completion.
