Radiologic Technology Program |
Manuel Gavito Program Director Welcome to the Texas Southmost College Radiologic Technology website. Our Radiologic Technology Program provides you with two years of academic and clinical training. Our students learn the fundamentals of Radiologic Technology in the classroom and in the college lab which is equipped with fully digital x-ray equipment. Students practice concepts learned in the classroom at area hospitals side by side with qualified clinical instructors. Our clinical affiliates all have state of the art digital x-ray equipment. The clinical portion of the student’s education is done in hospitals in Brownsville, Harlingen, and Weslaco. The Radiologic Technology Program has been in existence at Texas Southmost College since 1975. This program has been carefully structured so that students can gain confidence in their clinical skills. I and the other program faculty will help guide you through your radiologic technology education at Texas Southmost College so when you graduate from this program you will be fully prepared and have the confidence to work as a Radiographer. With new technological advancements, career opportunities in the field of diagnostic imaging are continually expanding. Registered technologists also have career opportunities available in specialized areas like CT, MRI, Mammography and Angiography. It is our hope that you will consider the radiology field your career choice. As, always we are interested in hearing from qualified individuals who are seeking a rewarding career in Radiologic Technology.
